The Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee brings together experts from government, industry and academia to research, discuss, and analyze AI issues affecting the intelligence and national security community to better assess challenges and to recommend actionable solutions.
Priorities include:
- Assessing how the IC can safely implement AI
- Evaluating mission-related opportunities and risks
- Preparing an "AI-ready" workforce and
- Considering future needs for models, data, and infrastructure

INSA's AI Subcommittee recently responded to an OSTP Request for Information (RFI) seeking input on an AI Action Plan. The response outlines INSA’s recommendations for enhancing national security through AI interoperability, workforce development, and public-private collaboration. It provides a framework for cataloging AI capabilities, strengthening AI skills training, and establishing scalable commercialization pathways to accelerate innovation.
