Nearly 700 intelligence, defense, and national security professionals gathered on Saturday, June 1, for the 39th William Oliver Baker Award dinner at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC. The evening recognized the extraordinary leadership and lasting impact of General Paul M. Nakasone, USA (Ret.), former Commander, USCYBERCOM and Director, NSA/Chief, CSS.

Following opening remarks and a commemorative video, General Nakasone took the stage and shared his deep honor and gratitude for receiving the award, highlighting many of the past recipients and their impact on U.S. national security. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the community, his colleagues, and most importantly, his family for their unwavering support.

General Nakasone reflected on his nearly four decades of service and highlighted the invaluable contributions of those he served alongside, attesting to the critical and exemplary work of NSA and U.S. Cyber Command professionals. He noted that it due to their efforts the U.S. and our allies have the ability to “see first, know first, and often act first.” Concluding his remarks, General Nakasone looked ahead and called for IC professionals to rise to meet the challenges of our time, uphold the values we cherish, and safeguard our nation with unwavering resolve.
