Corey Vitello PhD

As Senior Director and Deputy Head of Global Security & Workplace Solutions at Roku, Corey leads strategy, planning, intelligence and risk analyses, crisis management, the enterprise threat management team, program governance, compliance, and a whole host of additional leadership initiatives. Corey has been with Roku since April 2022.

Corey joined the leadership team as the Chief Security Officer for Prometheus Fuels in August 2020. His responsibilities included personnel and facility security operations, threat monitoring and assessment, environmental health and safety, crisis management, information security and data privacy. Prior to this role, he held the position of Head of Global Security Operations for Stripe, where he and his team created international security programs, established governance and compliance processes, and provided duty of care in over a dozen countries for the company’s fast-scaling workforce. Before Stripe, Corey was Senior Director of Global Security and Safety for Visa. Over 12 years, he directed the team’s security compliance efforts; built the flagship Global Security Operations Center; led the travel safety program, threat management, training, health and safety, major event security, such as the Super Bowl, Olympics, and World Cup; and was liaison to relevant federal law enforcement entities. His public service included various roles within the U.S. State Department, Diplomatic Security Service, and the California Department of Justice.

Academically, Corey holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Forensic Psychology and a Master of Arts in Organizational Behavior from Alliant International University. He has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and graduate certificates in International Security Management from Georgetown University, Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern, and the FBI’s Executive Academy at Quantico.

Corey has remained extremely engaged with private sector, government, and law enforcement organizations through memberships with the following organizations, boards and committees: International Security Foundation (ISF), Private Sector Intelligence Council (PSIC), Education and Training Committee of the FBI’s Domestic Security Alliance Council (DSAC), InfraGard, Pan-Asia Regional Council (PARC), the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, and the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).

Corey holds an active security clearance through the Department of Homeland Security.
