Erica R. Bomsey is Senior Vice President/Deputy General Counsel, Cybersecurity and Privacy at  Leidos. In this role, Ms. Bomsey leads the cybersecurity, security, technology, and data privacy functions in the Leidos Corporate Law Department, globally and domestically.

With 20 years of experience in the U.S. Government, Ms. Bomsey joined Leidos in September 2023 after serving as Assistant General Counsel/Corporate Director, Information Security at Northrop Grumman (2020-2023). In this role, she provided actionable legal advice and counsel on cybersecurity, digital modernization, privacy and data governance matters for the corporate enterprise, and aligned thoughtful legal approaches on information security and data practices throughout the company.

Before joining Northrop Grumman, Ms. Bomsey held various roles in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (2011-2020), most recently serving as Deputy General Counsel for Counterterrorism and Intelligence and as Senior Counsel to the National Counterterrorism Center. Ms. Bomsey was a driving force in providing legal advice and counsel to the Director of National Intelligence on substantive mission functions, including cyber policy and operations; privacy and data management; election security; counterterrorism; counterintelligence; and other foreign intelligence activities.

Ms. Bomsey previously served as Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2003-2011). In this role she provided legal advice to the General Counsel and senior policy officials in the development and implementation of 

programs supporting the Department’s border and transportation security functions,  and is a plankholder for the Department, being one of its founding employees. Ms. Bomsey received her Juris Doctor (International Law) and Master’s Degree  (International Affairs) from American University in Washington, D.C. She also earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Virginia.
