Jack Anderson is a Principal Consultant on the Unit 42 team at Palo Alto Networks, and is based in Alexandria, VA. He focuses on helping clients build and operate highly effective cybersecurity operations teams, leveraging the next generation of AI-supported cybersecurity solutions.
Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Jack has worked in cybersecurity operations, incident response and intelligence in previous roles at Phillips 66, FireEye, Mandiant, and Google. He has investigated over 2,000 cybersecurity intrusions in his career, including dozens of attacks attributed to nation-state espionage threat actors and hundreds of cybercrime cases. Jack was also actively involved in the defense of Ukrainian national security networks during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and throughout the ongoing war through early 2024.
Jack worked in private sector litigation and geopolitical consulting prior to making his career pivot into cybersecurity. Aside from his current role at Unit 42, he manages partnerships for the Critical Language Scholarship Alumni Society (CLSAS) and serves on the IT Advisory Board of the U.S. Senate Federal Credit Union.
Jack earned his M.S. from Georgia Tech and B.A. from Washington & Lee University.
