Jason Barrett became the first IC OSINT Executive in October 2023. In this position, Jason oversees the enterprise-wide synchronization and coordination of the IC OSINT mission, develops OSINT resource and investment plans, and establishes IC policies and standards. He is also responsible for overseeing the IC wide implementation of the recently released policy framework on Commercially Available Information.
Jason has extensive experience across the IC as an all-source analyst, advisor, and organizational leader at multiple agencies. Previous positions include Deputy Director of the ODNI's Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center (2021-2023), Chief of FBI's Asia Cyber Intelligence Unit (2019-2021), Executive Assistant to the Director of National Intelligence (2018-2019), and President's Daily Briefer to the National Security Advisor and Homeland Security Advisor (2015-2017).
He is a member of ODNI’s senior analytic service and previously served as the National Counterterrorism Center’s representative in both New York City and Chicago. Mr Barrett is the recipient of the FBI Director’s Award for Exceptional Public Service and a two-time recipient the DNI’s Distinguished Service Award.
Jason and his wife have three boys and live in Virginia with their dog, Biscuit.
