Randy Nixon serves as the Director of Open Source Enterprise, Directorate of Digital Innovation (DDI), CIA.  He joined the DDI leadership team in 2021 as Director of Digital Futures after serving as Deputy and then Director of the Office of Advanced Analytics (OAA) within the Directorate of Analysis (DA).

Prior to leading OAA, Randy spent much of his CIA career in the DA, with his expertise focused on working multiple wars and unstable regions. Randy first joined the Agency in 1991 as a student intern following the end of the Soviet Union, then served for five years active duty in the Army mostly in the Balkans. Following active duty, Randy rejoined the Agency in 1999. As a military analyst, Randy worked several conflicts and regions, to include the Balkans and South Asia, and also served a tour at FBI after 9/11. As a manager, he led our efforts in multiple Middle East and Near East accounts to include the Arab Spring as the Agency stood up the Near East Task Force.

Randy grew up in rural East Texas, and completed his BA in international relations from the University of Texas at Arlington. His free time is spent with his wife, an educator with Loudoun County Public Schools, and his three sons.
