COL Tim Dalton enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1990 and was commissioned a second lieutenant, Air Defense Artillery, upon graduating as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Missouri State University in 1995. In 2006, COL Dalton transitioned into the Space Operations career field.
Previous assignments include: Director, Space Operations and Sensitive Activities, U.S. Army Pacific Command (USARPAC); Director, Army Capability Manager for Space and High Altitude; Chief, Space Requirements Branch, Future Warfare Center, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT); Executive Officer to the Commanding General, USASMDC/ARSTRAT; Space Operations Officer, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM); Space Exercise and Operations Planner, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), deployed in support of Operation Tomodachi; Company Commander, 1st Space Company (JTAGS), 1st Space Battalion, 1st Space Brigade, USASMDC/ARSTRAT; Space Support Team Leader, 1st Space Battalion, 1st Space Brigade, USASMDC/ARSTRAT; Delta Battery Commander, 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky, deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
COL Dalton earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Master of Arts in Organizational Management, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies.

COL Dalton and his wife have eleven children and three grandchildren.
