  • Evaluating mission-related opportunities and risks
  • Preparing an "AI-ready" workforce and
  • Considering future needs for models, data, and infrastructure

INSA Announces Launch of New AI Subcommittee

INSA has launched a new AI Subcommittee that will bring together public, private, and academic thought leaders to research, discuss, and analyze AI issues affecting the intelligence and national security community in order to better assess challenges and to recommend actionable solutions.

ARLINGTON, VA (May 30, 2024)—The Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) today launched a new Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee that will research, discuss, and analyze AI issues that affect the intelligence and national security community to better assess challenges and to recommend actionable solutions. 

 

Housed under INSA’s Technology and Innovation Council, the subcommittee will bring together subject matter experts from the U.S. Government, private sector, and academia to address current and future AI challenges.

Priorities include:

  • safely implementing AI within the Intelligence Community,
  • evaluating mission-related opportunities and risks,
  • preparing an "AI-ready" workforce, and
  • considering future needs for models, data, and infrastructure. 

"INSA established this committee to ensure that the intelligence community is well-equipped to harness the transformative potential of artificial intelligence," said John Doyon, Executive Vice President, INSA. "By bringing together leading experts from across the community, we aim to tackle pressing challenges and seize key opportunities, ensuring our national security remains resilient and adaptive in an ever-evolving technological landscape. Participation is open to all INSA members willing to play an active role, as well as government and military professionals with experience in the field. The Subcommittee will meet 4 to 6 times per year. Simply complete the Council Interest Form and an INSA team member will be in touch.
